The Great Hospitality Shift

Across all industries, it is being referred to as the ‘great resignation’. Within the hospitality industry, this is a time of great opportunity. The shift that has taken place over the past two years has taught us the importance of our time, knowing our big why, our passion and defining our ideal lifestyle.

The shift taking place is that many are choosing lifestyle and pursuing their passion as being more important than collecting a paycheck. The belief that working for an organization creates job security was challenged during the pandemic. The only way to truly ensure job security is to build a business that provides you with the time and money to enable your ideal lifestyle and create significance.

If you are considering a more independent career path, consider the following:

1. Find a guide.
To jump start your career and ensure financial success, you will need someone that will lead you to the right opportunity. A guide will help you explore multiple opportunities.

2. Align with the right partner.
To achieve your dream, it is important to align with a great partner. From my experience, it is important to be a part of a successful team. As an example, our team has been the number one or two top-producing team for our company. We have established a strong community with a culture of success. You will want to make sure you have access to the knowledge and mentorship from those who have successfully traveled the path before you. Also, you want a dedicated coach and mentor with access to professional coaching tools and a motivated leader that is directly tied to your success. Finally, make certain you choose an organization that provides the products, services and support to ensure your success.

3. Make a decision.
My business coach reminds me often of this wisdom when I am struggling to make a decision.
“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.” -Chinese proverb

4. Go public with your decision.
By telling others, you are putting in motion the process of positive change.

5. Pick a date.
Set a realistic timeframe to achieve the steps above and move forward toward your dream.

If you decide that being an entrepreneur / business owner in the hospitality industry is right for you, let’s talk. I have successfully guided over one hundred people through making the transition and will do the same for you. Together, we will re-imagine, reinvent, and reset your plans for a bright future.
