5 Steps to Working Remotely in the Hospitality Industry

As many organizations move back to working in the office, there are exciting options that exist where you can still work remotely in the hospitality industry. These opportunities make it possible to chart your own course and become an entrepreneur in charge of where, when and how you work.

We have learned over the past few years how much we value our time and relationships. We need to balance our personal and professional lives. Yes…this is possible in the hospitality industry. Based on my experience of helping people make the transition, I want to share some tips for how you can go from employee to an independent business owner so you can achieve your objective.

  1. Decide what you want…and when you want it
    a. Have a clear picture of your dream / your big why
b.Set bold goals to help you reach your dream
  1. Use your experience / expertise
    a. What do you have expertise in?
    b. How will your experience transition to a new opportunity?
  2.  Establish a game plan (earnings needed, timeline and definition of success)
    a. What are you going to have to do and what are you going to have to sacrifice to achieve your goal?
    b. Prepare a financial plan
  3. Use your network / relationships to jump start your new business – surrounding yourself with a support group
    a. Family, friends
    b. Coach, Mentors
  4. Act on your plan
    a. Get started: “Winning is beginning: to really succeed in life, you must be able to solve two problems 1) how to get started and 2) how to never quit!”  – Author Unknown
    b. Be persistent putting in the effort every day

More than ever, it is time for you to work where, when, and how you want. Does this sound like you? Our industry has amazing opportunities that can match your ideal lifestyle. Let’s talk about making the transition.
