Independent Hospitality Professional: Joining an Event Planning Company

We are sharing ten questions to ask when considering the best path to being an entrepreneur/independent event planner to ensure that this coming year is YOUR year!

When I made the career change to being an independent business owner, I quickly realized there was not a clearly-defined path to success, and it felt like jumping out of a plane without a parachute. From my first-hand experience, I know it is difficult to make the leap when you are unsure on all that you need to consider and the necessary steps to be successful. It can be overwhelming…but does not need to be.

The following are 10 questions you need to ask the companies you are considering:
1. Will you have a dedicated coach/mentor that is committed to your success?
2. Will the coach/mentor be financially linked to your success so they are motivated to ensure your success?
3. Will you be joining a team of professionals where all the associates have experience and expertise in the
industry?
4. Do they have a proven record of helping new team members onboard and quickly begin producing?
5. Do they have an ongoing training program to ensure that you are successful?
6. Will you be joining one of the top producing teams within their company so that you will have the additional               resources and support from the veterans who have gone before you?
7. Do they provide data for prospecting?
8. Does the company offer you additional income opportunities in addition to the site selection commissions?
9. Will you have a dedicated team of professionals to ensure that you receive your commissions in a timely
manner?
10. Do they hold client events that provide your customers the opportunity to share?

The best brand I affiliated with and the team I built within the brand answer all these questions with a resounding YES. In addition, my experience of leading individuals and teams for over 30 years, mentoring these individuals through multiple challenges and helping people make decisions on enhancing their careers and lives, provides me with the experience to help you.

If you are ready to take charge of your own career, it starts with choosing the right company and finding a guide with a roadmap to ensure your success. I would like to offer you, with no strings attached, a conversation about making a change. If our team is not right for you, we will explore the best game plan for you to pursue. If you are interested in the existing opportunities on our team, I look forward to further exploring your story to see if we are a match.
