Attitude is the Key During This Crisis in the Hospitality Industry

There is one thing this health and economic crisis cannot take away from all of us in the hospitality industry, our attitude. There are so many emotions going through all of us as we go through these unchartered waters, but we must realize that our attitude will determine our altitude and our future success.

As we begin to realize the tremendous impact this has on all of us in our industry given the cancellations, rescheduling, and uncertain group pick-up, we need to remember each of us is in control of our own situation. Our industry’s opportunity is simple…to show empathy, compassion, and care for all those impacted. We need to work together and extend the love and care needed to our families, friends, industry colleagues and our communities.

My challenge for all of us is to keep moving forward and growing even in uncertain times. This is the opportunity to improve a skill, learn a new hobby, make time for something you always said you were too busy to do, and most of all…continue to be curious. Let us take this time (and continue when we are back in the new normal) to slow down, catch our breath and keep each other in our thoughts. Let’s learn from what we are enduring and emerge better than ever.

With an optimistic attitude, we will rise again and thrive in our new normal.
